Jessy J – Hot Sauce

Posted by Terry Sweeney on 2012/03/20

With a Latin background to boot, this aspiring saxophonist has hit all levels on her latest album.  She’s hooked up with producer Paul Brown for another blend of funky, groovy, get down tracks.  Things get hot with the opening number Remember The Night.  Rhythmic and a memorable hook featuring Paul and Marco Basci on bass, keys/strings and drum programming.  The title track showcases Jessy’s talent of playing  tenor sax and collaborating with guitarist Michael Ripoli and Brown Rainbow Gold features Joe Sample and Harvey Mason, Ray Parker Jr. and even Jessy singing! Hot stuff! Meant To Be has a latin twist to it featuring Gregg Karukas on keys and strings.  She even covers Duke Ellington’s In A Sentimental Mood with Saunders Sermons on vocals.  Cool, laidback and jazzy.  10 songs for any “hot night”.
