Michael Massaro - Love In Motion

Posted by Terry Sweeney on 2014/10/15

I am a real sucker for dirty sax.

I said dirty sax, okay?  I mean I love all sax and all sax players - Warren Hill, Jack Prybylski, Steve Cole, Mindi Abair, Dave Koz, Jessy J, Carson Freeman ... oh my, the list does go on.  But I especially like a little dirty sax.  And no one does dirty sax quite like Toronto's Michael Massaro.  All you have to do is check out My One And Only Love (my favorite track) from his new CD Love In Motion and you'll know exactly what I mean. Just dirty enough to be sexy without going overboard.  LOVE it!  And that's the point because this new album is all about love. Michael says "The title and concept is clear, 'LOVE' is ultimately the driving force in all that is good."

Amen Brother!  Perhaps the sax is second?

Michael's latest offering is a tasty testament to his heart and soul, evident in every note he plays.  Dreamweavers, the lead-off single, is a sax-lover's dream come true; lush, luxurious and lovely.  His latest, the title track Love In Motion, sets the tone for the entire CD: filled with juicy hooks, super-cool licks and a funky groove. Michael's band proves that they are world-class and on fire.  With Lou Bartolomucci on guitars (and co-production), Marco Luciani on keys, Pat Kilbride on bass, SJ award-winner Steve Heathcote on drums and even a gust horn section with Tony Carlucci and Phil Poppa, these cats know how to play!  Check out El Corazon (The Heart) for Brazilian spark and Moonlight Over Vienna which showcases Michael's fluting chops.

Love In Motion proves resoundingly that our Canadian talent is right up there with the big boys, writing great songs and playing them to perfection. Marvelous Music in Motion with Michael Massaro!
