Nick Colionne - Just Being Me

Posted by April Galenzoski on 2018/07/16

First off, Nick Colionne "just being me" is all any music lover could ask for because just being himself is about as unique as you can get in the world is smooth groove. Uncle Nick is a master at fusing jazz, funk and soul into his own groovy blend of sweet sonance. And this new CD just takes Nick's gorgeous guitar to the next level.

The lead-off single "Be Urself" is pure Nick all the way, filled with hooky licks, an energetic groove and of course the perfect title because if you know Nick you know he is most definitely one of a kind. Who else could he be?

The title track "Just Being Me" again emphasizes his exclusive individuality, setting a sizzling pace for the entire record. Nick's take on the James Taylor classic "How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You" proves how innovative this man truly is and "Is This Love That I'm Feeling" slows things down to a sweetly sensual serenade. Also nice to see James Lloyd (Pieces Of A Dream) make a guest appearance on "Still Connected", the perfect marriage of guitar and keys in matchless musical symmetry.

Nick is most certainly the snappiest dresser in the world of smooth groove but I can personally also attest to his huge heart and humanity. He may be "fancy" but he one of the most down-to-earth sweethearts I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Add to this his incredible talent and dynamic live show and you have got the complete package of "artist". That he is ... and then some.

Especially when he is "Just Being Me".
