Robin Thicke – Love After War

Posted by Terry Sweeney on 2012/05/01

It’s hard to believe it’s been nine years since singer Robin Thicke released his debut. His latest features 17 new songs on his 5th studio album Love After War.  Coming from musical parents (songwriter/singers Alan Thicke & Gloria Loring) his sound just comes natural.  You can tell his mom and dad would play Motown all day and night from his smooth, urban influenced singing voice.  He continues his love of soul and R&B on songs like Never Give Up, All Tied Up and the title track.  With everything over produced and popish sounding these days on the music scene, Thicke lays it on with live instrumentation and old school.  When a song meant something.  Lyrically and emotionally.  Another fine effort from one of music’s most under rated singers.
