Slim Man-Christmas Eve
On choosing a CD for this review I considered several of this year’s releases, all worthy of your ears to be sure, but in the end I came back to this 2008 offering from Baltimore based Slim Man who also answers to Tim Camponeschi. My reason is simple; it has the feel, the ambiance and the warmth of what I look for at this time of year. A generous helping of the traditional, “Rudolph”, “Baby It’s Cold Outside”, “O Christmas Tree” and “Jingle Bells”, blended together with a couple of original tracks including “The Gift (A Soldiers Christmas)”, “Blues For Christmas” and of course the title track “Christmas Eve”, which features the lovely voice of Melanie Hazelrigg. Marc Antoine also lends his talent to most of the tracks adding to the enjoyment.
So deck the halls, trim the tree and do whatever has to be done to ready the house but make sure you leave some time for yourself and “Christmas Eve” with Slim Man and friends.
Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday season.
